Review: Pixi Vitamin-C Skincare Range

Hi everyone,

So a few months ago Pixi let me know that they sent out a package for me to try out over the summer. As the package got sent to our UK address, it took me a while to actually get my hands on it, but I have finally been able to try out the products and have been using them for a few weeks now & thought I would let you know what I think!

The beautiful package I received included the Vitamin-C Juice Cleanser, Vitamin-C Tonic, Vitamin-C Serum, Vitamin-C Lotion and Vitamin-C Caviar Balm.

I got a chance to use these products while I was sick with a massive cold, when the weather was very hot and when the weather was dry and cold. So having used the products, in so many different conditions, I think I’ve got a proper opinion on all of them by now πŸ™‚

Let’s start off with the Vitamin-C Juice Cleanser– this brightening, antioxidant cleansing water has become a daily staple for me! I am already running low on it and I am definitely going to re-buy it myself. I use it with a cotton pad and it removes all of my makeup extremely easily, while also keeping my skin fresh and protected from outside pollutants. Some cleansers tend to make my skin feel dry, but this keeps it soft and smooth and seems to make any spots disappear more quickly! I also use it in the mornings some times, if I want to wake my skin up.  I absolutely love the fresh citrus scent and the easy-to-use top, which is perfect if I’m in a rush.

After cleansing my face, I use the Skin Tonic. I’ve always gone back and forth with toners, as I feel like most of them don’t really do anything to my face. I use this with a cotton pad as well, after I cleanse as a post-cleansing extra step to ensure I’ve gotten everything off. I also think this, with the combination of the cleanser has helped any spots I have had fade more quickly!

There were two products I was extremely excited to try out- one of them being the Vitamin-C Serum. I’ve never tried a proper serum before, so this caused a lot of excitement for me. It felt like I was giving myself a mini-facial every time I used it. It contains Vitamin C & ferulic acid, which are proven to reduce the effects of sun damage & free radicals, helping to improve skin tone and creating a smoother complexion. Thus, using this after our honeymoon in Greece, was perfect timing! I’ve got to say I love the feeling of using it as it’s super smooth and smells divine just like the rest of this range (almost). As for it’s effect- it may be because I used so many new products, but it is a bit difficult to say how effective the serum itself was. I also didn’t use it every day like the cleanser and tonic, but am testing it out more now to see what it does specifically and what I think!

I want to end on a high note, so I will mention the Vitamin-C Lotion as my second to last product. If I had to name a product I wouldn’t buy again from this range, it would be this but for very, very simple reasons. I didn’t enjoy the scent of this as much as I did the rest of the range and I found it took quite a while for it to sink into my skin, which I wasn’t a big fan of. It might be better for those with more dry skin than mine, so give it a try! I do have to say though, that even though the scent and the absorption of the product into my skin wasn’t ideal, it still did the job and kept my skin moisturised and hydrated πŸ™‚

Now, last but certainly not least- the Vitamin-C Caviar Balm. I have never tried a product of this nature before. I normally just put on my moisturiser and my skincare routine is done.. but this has changed everything. It’s like a leave-on mask that hydrates your skin while also boosting your skin’s luminosity and brightness. When I apply it, my skin is so soft and smooth, which I absolutely love. I normally keep it on for about 20-30 minutes while I clean up the house or have my coffee before I put on any make-up, just so that it has time to sink into my skin. I also use it before bed. I’ve noticed just how great this has moisturised and brightened my skin. There weren’t any dry patches on my face at all in the month I’ve been using it and my skin was nice and glowy even while I was sick and felt utterly horrible… I absolutely love it and will continue to use it as a special treat for my skin!

So here are my thoughts on the new Pixi Vitamin-C Skincare range! I hope you find this helpful and hopefully it aids you in making a decision if you wanted to purchase these items yourself. If you are thinking about it, but want to try out only a few of the items- I suggest starting with the Vitamin-C Cleanser and the Caviar Balm πŸ™‚
