If you read my latest post on Afternoon tea at the Royal Garden Hotel, then you probably recall me saying that the first time I went for afternoon tea was as a present from my boyfriend who then surprised me with a visit to the Shard – the tallest building in Europe. It’s that beautiful glass skyscraper in the centre of London that peaks out into the sky and catches your eye from a distance.
It houses office spaces, restaurants & hotel rooms with a breathtaking view. An attraction for people allows visitors to go up to the 68th, 69th and 72nd floors and experience the amazing sights that this building has to offer. At The View from The Shard you get to see the Thames river, the London eye, London bridge, 30 St. Mary Axe (The Gherkin) and other beautiful buildings. Being up there… it’s quite breathtaking.
I decided to reminisce and do a blog post to share my experience … it was more than words can explain (hence the photos coming up). The entrance which felt like you are about to board a plain, the ride up the elevator, the beautiful fake grass and those glass walls… You even have an option of enjoying a glass of champagne as you walk around. All of it makes you forget that you are in a building in the centre of one of the busiest cities on earth… you tend to feel as if you are up in the sky.
Best part of it? The view…
Thanks to Jonas for this amazing day and also for some of these great photographs!
